The Elbon Family: University Place Family Photographer

I’m a sucker for a family of boys, having two (and possibly three) of my own. Noble had tons of energy, but that is nothing new when it comes to photographing 3 year old boys. But he so lovey with his baby brother Forrest, it makes me excited for that brotherly friendship they will eventually have, the friendship I’ve seen grow between my two boys. Thanks Matt and Amber for letting me hang out with your sweet family for a while.

    We Pumpkin Patched: Picha Farms

We have been going to the Picha Farms pumpkin patch since I was pregnant with Benjamin. It’s also where I first suspected I might be pregnant with Gilbert. And here we are getting ready for number three. It has become one of my favorite family traditions, especially in the last three years. The boys love to run around through the cornstalks and ride in the wheelbarrow. This year we discovered the hayride. And we alway end our time with chips and hotdogs. I don’t know if these memories will stick with the boys as they have with me. But I’m soaking up each year that we spend here because I know a day will come where I have teenage boys who have no interest in going to the pumpkin patch. I’m grateful for these photos for when that day comes. It’s days like these I wish I could keep them little forever.

The Hogue Family: Tacoma Family Photographer

The Hogue family signed up for one of my mini-sessions at Curran Orchard. Of course, it rained. Most families rescheduled but they took a chance to see if it would clear up. And it did! It was well worth the risk. The light was perfect. We go sun peeks along with a little overcast (which I love). Oliver and Cleo were so sweet and fun to work with. Oliver had all sorts of suggestions as to where we should take pictures. I was happy to oblige since my boys avoid the camera like the plague. It was a great afternoon!

        Baby Beckett: Seattle Newborn Photographer

I love it when I get to do photos for family of previous clients. Back in March I did newborn photos for Jeff’s brother, Greg and Katie and their daughter Kari. A couple of weeks ago I did photos for Jeff, Michelle and Baby Beckett. Having two boys of my own baby boys hold a special place in my heart. Michelle and Jeff are such loving parents, Beckett is a lucky guy. Thanks for inviting me into your home Garrisons!

Magic Light: Summer Isn’t Over Yet

Last night we spent the evening at my aunt and uncle’s house. Even though there was a slight chill in the air it still felt like summer. Between the kids hunting for shells, eating watermelon and rolling around in the grass. For all of you holding on to summer, it seems to be holding on to us too.

I went through a long period where I wasn’t taking many photos outside of my work. But half way through the summer and the last couple of weeks I felt the need to keep my creative blood pumping. So I’ve brought my camera alond with me a bit more. And last night I found magic light. The sun was gorgeous on the water. It was so fun to capture the different ways the light appeared last night. It was the same sun, but the light showed itself so different depending on where I took the photo. It reminded me that we all have our own light to share, but we all share it differentlly. It doesn’t mean one is better than the other. It just means we all have something good inside of us to share, we just might show it different than someone else. Don’t be afraid to share your beautiful light. Summer isn’t over yet.
