Takenouchi Family: Tacoma Family Photographer

Let’s talk about intimidation. Devon is a photographer, she has been a mentor since almost the beginning. So taking their family photos was so nerve-wracking. Bu they were so sweet and wonderful to work with. Mr. Taylor was a pro, so used to having his photo taken and pure confidence. And baby brother Peyton is pure relaxation, and go with the flow. Thanks so much Devon for trusting me to capture your sweet family.

    Hannah: Tacoma Portrait Photographer

We went to Chelan this October with Kollin’s family. My niece Hannah and I decided to do a photo swap while we were there. She is a photographer in Wyoming and has been doing this much longer than me. It was so fun playing around, she was up for anything even laying on the ground with the bugs of Eastern Washington. Thanks Hannah, we should go up to the hills next time.

      Masuda Family: Seattle Family Photographer

Little Sawyer was born a day after Louisa, I did his newborn photos 3 weeks after giving birth, I brought Louisa with me. That little face of his has a tender spot in my heart. Photographing this family was was special seeing how much Sawyer has grown sharing similar one year old qualities as Louisa.

Eboni of Beadwork Beauty: Tacoma Commercial Photographer

Eboni makes custom handmade beadwork. It is gorgeous and so intricate. When I asked her how hard it was to make them, she spoke modestly, like anyone could do it. But you can tell by looking at her work that it must take a lot of patience, a steady hand and attention to detail, which I could never do. But it was a joy working with another artist. Did I also mention how beautiful Eboni is?! Inside and out. I often wanted to focus the camera more on her and less of the beadwork. She is so confident in her beauty, not to mention the pride she has in her Native American heritage was obvious. All around beauty. Thanks Eboni for letting me spend some time with you. If anyone is interested in her beadwork feel free to contact me and I’ll pass her information along.

Capture Your Christmas: Family Documentary Sessions

Christmas is my favorite time of year…I mean along with fall, summer and spring when the flowers are in bloom. But Christmas has something special all on it’s own. Christmas arrives in the middle of darkness. It arrives when it’s cold and dark, when the sun rarely shows it’s face. Christmas is my light in a dark time, it’s what I hang onto when the imperfections of life feel louder. And since having kids, Christmas has (yes, become more challenging) but also oh so magical. I get to experience Christmas through the eyes of a child again. The best Christmas gift I could ever get.

Photography has been a way for me to capture and preserve these magical moments with my children. These are some of my favorite photographs. These are photos of my kids playing with their ornaments just as I did as a kid, they are my baby’s eyes aglow from the twinkle lights, they are of them galavanting on their little legs across the tree farm, or just snuggled up next to the tree.

It would be my joy to create these lasting memories for you as well. This Christmas season I’m offering a limited number of Family Documentary Sessions. Don’t worry, it wouldn’t be added work to your busy Christmas season. No one has to dress up, wash their face or fit something else into their schedule. All you do is choose one of your family’s favorite Christmas traditions. I would join you with camera in hand to capture you and your family making memories. You can choose your event; tree farm, decorating, cookie making, ice skating…whatever is most important to you. You can also choose how long you want me hanging around from one hour to a half a day. Session prices starting at $450. Spots are limited since I will also be busy making my own family memories.
