The Rorem Family: Tacoma Family Home Photographer

Moving out of your first home can be really difficult. My sister and her husband brought all three babies (and one fur baby) home to this house. But as they grew it became more and more crowded. They finally reached a point that they had to find a bigger home. However, leaving this special place was difficult for all of them. So we took some photos to capture the spaces they have spent so much time in. The spaces where so much life has been lived. Family photos are a dream when you include the family house. The house is really part of the family. Whether or not your moving, family sessions at home make some of the most unique and special images, especially as time passes.

    Baby Luke: Tacoma Newborn Photographer

I have had the honor of photographing all three babies in the Brett family. It’s such a joy watching a family grow and seeing each kiddo change as they become a big brother or sister.

The Demas Family Reunion: Documentary Photography

The Matriarch of the Demas family was celebrating a big birthday. Her kids decided to gift her with photos from their family gathering/weekend trip. It was a delightfully hot day on the Salish Sea in the Pacific Northwest. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what to get our parents when they are so content with what they already have. Photos! Photos are the gift that only becomes more valuable with time.

The Buri Family: Priest Lake Family Videographer

I shot this storytelling film last summer when I was on my own vacation in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. I knew Rachel and Nate in college and they knew I make the trip out to Idaho every summer, just two hours from where they had their family vacations on Priest Lake. So it happened to work out that I could slip away from my family for half a day and hang out with theirs. This was the best session. I love life on the like, especially Idaho lakes. The colors of the trees, rocks and water have such a distinct look. There is always a calm in everyone being on the water, that also carries a sense of fun. I could have stayed with them all day, but I had to get back to my own family.

If you want to see the Buri’s film, scroll through the photos and check out our morning at the late. So many great memories were captured.

The Saddler Family: Tacoma Family Videographer

I shot this film of the Saddler family last July on a very hot afternoon/evening. Watching this family of 6 gave me a little taste of what my life would soon look like, which has proven to be very true. There is so much activity, so much life going on, all the time. Megan, handled it with so much grace and ease, I wish I could have harnessed some of it in a bottle to have to survive my current summer with 4 kids.

With each storytelling family film session, I always make sure to capture a handful (or more) of still. We were so busy, I wasn’t able to capture as many as I normally do. After to scroll through these images you can enjoy their family film at the bottom of the page.

If family films interest you, you can check out more of my videos HERE.
