Malia was a little girl when I met her. I’m not sure how she is already graduating high school. I know one thing for sure, she is going to do great things. She is a kind, intelligent beautiful girl, inside and out.

I’ve done family photos for the Auvil Family every other year for the past 4 years. It’s amazing to see how quicly these boys have grown up. That is one of the main reasons I am constantly taking photos of my own kiddos. It’s amazing how quickly they move in and out of phases, interests, and sizes. Photography and film is the only way to hold on to the different stages of life, as it just moves too fast.

I love this lady. She is one of the kindest, sweetest people I know. We went to the same high school together for only two years and we only see one another randomly with years in bewteen, usually just via social media. But she is someone I still value very much. When I started high school, I was terrified, I found myself in classes with no one I knew. But she was in a few. We became friends quickly. She was so kind, the the perfect person to navigate high school with. And now she has this sweet little boy and he couldn’t be luckier to have her as his mama.

Whenever I do a newborn shoot I find myself envying the parents. They get to stay home and be cozy with their sweet new baby. Sit on the couch, watch netflix and admire that sweet baby. There is something so magical about that time. But then I soon find myself remember how wonderful AND challenging, caring for a newborn is. No sleep, constant diaper changes, and a baby that needs to eat every two hours (or less), plus all the other things my tired brain forgot about. It’s so demanding. It’s amazing how awful and yet amazing that experience can be. When I really think about it, that is a great beginning to the start of parenthood.
Naomi is one lucky baby. Casey and Dan are so loving and tender with their baby girl. I’m excited to watch them blossom in this new role of mom and dad.

Let’s talk about intimidation. Devon is a photographer, she has been a mentor since almost the beginning. So taking their family photos was so nerve-wracking. Bu they were so sweet and wonderful to work with. Mr. Taylor was a pro, so used to having his photo taken and pure confidence. And baby brother Peyton is pure relaxation, and go with the flow. Thanks so much Devon for trusting me to capture your sweet family.
